When you think Greek food, snacks like allergen-free baked crackers, chips, and crisps probably don’t come to mind but they are big sellers enough that Greek manufacturer Unismack, will open its first United States facility in Kentwood, Michigan, creating 185 jobs with it in a $41.7 million investment
The site will include the company’s U.S. headquarters, a product research and development center, said Wood TV, as well as the manufacturing of the Greek treats made with all-natural ingredients.
“As we looked into another manufacturing location for our company, the Grand Rapids region seemed like an obvious choice,” Unismack Founder and CEO Dimitrios Stratakis stated. The company is based in Kilkis, Macedonia.
“There is an abundance of talent and resources here in West Michigan to help us in the next phase of our journey and we’re thankful to the team at The Right Place and their partners at the MEDC for their support,” he said.
“We are honored SnackCraft has chosen the City of Kentwood as its first location in the United States, bringing well-paying jobs and a significant investment in our community,” Kentwood Mayor Stephen Kepley stated.
