Georgiadis: Hellenikon Project a Work of National Importance

ATHENS — Development and Investments Minister Adonis Georgiadis on Monday underlined that "we should consider the project at Hellenikon a work of national importance that links three different governments. The first contract started in 2014 during Samaras-Venizelos government, the SYRIZA government then continued this, despite its initial objections, and it was completed by the Mitsotakis govenrment. It is a project that symbolises the continuity of three different governments".

He said that the works will begin before the official transfer of the property, with zero risk for the public sector and only the private contractor facing potential risk, to save time as a final decision of the Council of State was still pending.
