Greek-American James A. Koshivos, 21, Killed after Car Plunged into Ocean
FALMOUTH, MA – The police in Falmouth have identified the victim in an accident involving a car plunging into the ocean on February 20, NBC10 Boston reported.
Left little choice in the time of COVID-19, the St. Sophia's Greek Cultural Festival in Dewitt, New York – just outside Syracuse – was a drive-through take-out version this year, like many other festivals around the United States.
The pop-up menu featured sweet fried dough loukoumades, stuffed grape leaves dolmathes, and the traditional gyros, offered like you were driving past a take-out window at a fast food chain.
St. Sophia's Parish Council President Peter Manalakos told cyncentral.com it was a loop where a cashier and runner came to get the order and run back with the food as fast as they can.
“Many patrons have been craving their Greek food since the cancellation of the June Festival. Instead of having to wait until 2021, we will be able to satisfy them with this take-out service.” said festival committee Chairman Peter Lemoniades.
The same method will be used for the annual St. Louis Country Greekfest in Town and Country, Missouri where diners can place their orders online starting on Oct. 12 and can pick them up during the festival on the weekend of Oct. 16.
