PASOK leader Androulakis: ‘The core of collusion and corruption is at Maximos Mansion’

ATHENS – PASOK-KINAL leader Nikos Androulakis, speaking at the Hellenic Parliament on Thursday, emphasized that there is “an established belief among the Greek people” that the government “operates as a well-oiled machine of corruption, cover-up, and propaganda.”

During the debate on a censure motion against the government that he submitted with other opposition parties, Androulakis further pointed out that PASOK refuses to tolerate corruption, cover-ups, and impunity in a series of cases.

The PASOK leader launched a personal attack on Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, stating: “Mr. Mitsotakis, don’t get confused. In Maximos Mansion, you are just a tenant. The owner is the Greek people.” He also rejected the government’s charges that he submitted the censure motion to serve financial interests.

Commenting on the resignations of ministers Stavros Papastavrou and Yiannis Bratakos, he argued that “the core of collusion and corruption is at Maximos Mansion,” the government’s headquarters.

Androulakis also condemned the government’s handling of the Tempi train collision, stressing: “As long as there were no security systems to prevent any mistakes, you were playing with the probability of a tragedy happening.”

Attributing to the government an attempt to deceive Greek citizens, he demanded answers to crucial questions of who had recorded the controversial phone conversations, who altered them, and who turned them over to the newspaper Proto Thema to publish. “You will not hide the truth behind your obscene propaganda. This revelation confirms the established opinion of the Greek people that your only purpose was to manipulate public opinion.”
