Hempstead AHEPA Family Hosts Annual Super Bowl Fundraiser

HEMPSTEAD, NY – The Hempstead AHEPA Family at the Cathedral of Saint Paul in Hempstead, Long Island, NY, hosted their annual Super Bowl fundraiser on February 11. The event was well attended with over 100 people in attendance. Nick Eliopoulos was presented with his lifetime service pin for over 50 years and is now officially a Lifetime Member of Constantine Cassis AHEPA Chapter No. 170.

The event included Constantine Cassis AHEPA Chapter No. 170, Daughters of Penelope Pasithea Chapter No. 141, Sons of Pericles Lord Byron Chapter No. 233, and Maids of Athena Victory Chapter No. 76.

Event Chairman Aris Papangelopoulos was assisted by Co-Chairman Dr. John Lagonikos. Edgar Ciar operated the ‘souvla’ (rotisserie) for the chicken wings which were marinated and donated by Petros Dafnos. The cigars were donated by Harry Demiris.

The Sons of Pericles No. 233 and Boys Scout Troop 456 helped set up the outside heated lounge area and helped in the overall pre-production. The Maids of Athena Victory No. 76 helped with the 50/50 raffle sales.

Peter Papangelopoulos was in charge of the technical production, donating his time to set up the audio/visual for the big mega screen and the Bose sound system in the St. Paul community’s Hellenic Room.
