CONSTANTINOPLE – His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America met with His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew today, August 31, 2021 at the Phanar in order to offer his greetings and receive the blessing of His All-Holiness, according to GOARCH's announcement.
Additionally, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, upon receiving permission from His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Patriarchal and Stavropegial Monestery of the Holy Trinity on the Island of Halki, where he ordained Paul Gómez González to the Holy Diaconate. His Eminence bestowed upon the newly ordained Deacon the new name of Petros, as chosen by the Ecumenical Patriarch himself. AXIOS!
BOSTON – Evangelos, former Metropolitan of New Jersey, and his successor, the recently elected Metropolitan Apostolos, will both participate in the Synod of the Phanar, whose composition was determined by Patriarch Bartholomew for a period of six months from September 1, 2023, to February 29, 2024.
