Christmas Benefit Concert at St. George Cathedral in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A Christmas Benefit Concert was held on December 10 in celebration of the Centennial of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and the Centennial of the historic St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Philadelphia. The performance included Christmas carols and songs as well as selections from G.F. Handel’s Messiah with Maestro Dimitrios M. Fousteris, his orchestra and chorus.

The evening featured the St. John the Theologian Cathedral Choir, Tenafly, NJ, Helena Biktasheva Fousteris, soprano; Eleni Catanzaro, soprano; Ann Arella, mezzo-soprano; Michael Vezzuto, tenor; Steve Fredericks, bass; James Lubiano, pianist; David Maiullo, Chorus Master; Yelena Savrakskaya, Concert Master; and the Chamber Orchestra and Chorus from the Tri-State Metropolitan Area in New York under the direction of Maestro Dimitrios M. Fousteris.

Following the concert, a reception with light bites and refreshments was held in the community’s social hall.
