Basilico Bloody Mary

A Bloody Mary is an easy drink to mix, but a difficult one to perfect.  This Greek version has basilico as its green garnish, and can be just as refreshing on a hot summer day, if not more so, than celery.

THE VODKA: Smirnoff is a very underrated vodka in the United States. Ask a Russian, Estonian, Latvian, Moldovan, etc. about vodka, and you’ll hear that Smirnoff is their brand of choice more of then than not.

OTHER INGREDIENTS:

1 lemon wedge

1 lime wedge

2 dashes Greek sea salt

4 0z. tomato juice

3 dashes Tabasco Sauce

2 teaspoons horseradish

1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 dash Ground black pepper

Glass: Pint

DIRECTIONS:

Squeeze the lemon and lime wedges into a shaker and then drop them in.

Add all other ingredients except the basilico.

Add 2 1/2 ounces of Smirnoff vodka (or other brand) and fill shaker with ice.

Fill the pint glass with ice.

Strain the mix from the shaker into the pint.

Garnish with a sprig of basilico.

Enjoy!
