Emergency Restrictive COVID-19 Measures for Karditsa, Pella and Pieria

ATHENS — Restrictive measures to contain a resurgence of novel coronavirus infections were imposed on the regions of Karditsa (central Greece) and Pella and Pieria (northern Greece) on Friday by the Civil Protection deputy minister and the secretary general.

Measures include the following:

– Shut-downs for food places, nightclubs and entertainment in general from midnight to 07:00 the next morning

– Maximum of 50 persons per social, religious and any kind of events (except for venues such as restaurants, theaters and cinemas, with particular rules)

– Permission to employers to suspend work contracts.

The measures will be in effect as of 06:00 on Saturday (August 22) to 06:00 Tuesday (September 1).

These restrictions are also currently in effect in the following regions: Crete, Eastern Macedonia & Thrace, Attica, Thessaloniki, Larissa and Corfu and the municipalities of Santorini, Volos, Katerini, Rhodes, Zakynthos and Kos.
