Peloni: The Vaccination Operation Is Proceeding in an Exemplary Manner

ATHENS — Referring to the epidemiological situation and the vaccinations, government spokesperson Aristotelia Peloni on Tuesday noted that the overall epidemiological picture in the country is still improving and the health system is returning to normal.

"The spread of the virus, however, continues and poses a risk to those who have not been vaccinated. For this purpose, we are extending the free distribution of self-tests to groups of the population and we are making every effort to maintain a high rate of vaccination," she said.

"The vaccination operation is proceeding in an exemplary manner and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is constantly calling – this is what he did during his visit to Ioannina – on everyone to be vaccinated as soon as possible. We are calling – as the experts point out – on our fellow citizens who are older, who are more at risk, on younger people who are most mobile and even more on the medical staff and the workers in the care facilities for vulnerable groups," Peloni added.

Referring to the prime minister's programme, she said that at 19:30 he will attend and speak at the event, which will take place in Galatsi, for the signing of the contract for Metro Line 4, in Athens.

On Wednesday, at 11:00, he will chair a cabinet meeting.

At 14:00 he will meet with the President of the European Investment Bank, Werner Hoyer, at the Maximos Mansion.

At 17:00 he will attend the General Assembly of SETE.

On Thursday and Friday, he will be in Brussels for the European Council.
