Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
NEW YORK – A two-day meeting of Orthodox Christian organizations working with people who experience homelessness commenced at the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. The meeting, hosted by the Department of Inter-Orthodox, Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations, which is also responsible for social issues, seeks to produce a common understanding from an Orthodox Christian perspective. It will also provide recommendations to the Assembly of Bishops on the situation, which affects a significant percentage of the population.
The participating organizations include: Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry, Project Mexico/St. Innocent Orphanage, Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society, Philoxenia, Inc., FOCUS North America, Martha and Mary Maternity House, Cross Road Summer Institute, Neighborhood Resilience Project, Saint Basil Academy, and Philoxenia House.
