Greek-American James A. Koshivos, 21, Killed after Car Plunged into Ocean
FALMOUTH, MA – The police in Falmouth have identified the victim in an accident involving a car plunging into the ocean on February 20, NBC10 Boston reported.
ASTORIA – Thiasos Theatrical Group and FAMA Theater Group New York present the charming Greek comedy ‘Yparhi kai Filotimo’ (‘Filotimo also Exists’) by Alekos Sakellariou and Christos Giannakopoulos at the Thespis Theatre at the Archdiocesan Hellenic Cultural Center, 27-09 Crescent Street in Astoria, through April 2.
Starring the talented Nikos Karas, who also directed the production, and a gifted ensemble cast – Alexandros Ammohostianos, Mirka Hatzi, Hara Zi, Maria Agapi, Joseph Afthonidis, Alexandros Kolomvos, Athanasia Lekka, Katerina Theofani, Maria Thiraiou, and special guest star and well-known scene stealer Anna Tsoukala Post, the play is not to be missed in its final three performances this weekend.
Set in Greece in the 1960s, the comedy ensues from the very start of the show as one by one we are introduced to the whimsical characters who take us on a journey from Athens to a rural village as a politician on his way to give a speech to boost his image receives a rude awakening.
Performances are Friday and Saturday at 8 PM and Sunday at 4 PM.
