ATHENS — Opposition MeRA25 leader Yanis Varoufakis on Thursday pointed out the immediate need to requisition private health units of Thessaloniki, speaking in parliament during the debate on the pandemic.
"The requisitioning of the private sector in health, especially in Thessaloniki, should be done today before this debate ends," he said.
"It is outrageous to beg the private sector. Requisition this moment," Varoufakis said.
"It is not the time to disagree over the figures, we have an exponential growth of the pandemic, we are not here to argue," he said, adding that "in March we supported you because, unlike other conservative prime ministers in Europe, you moved fast. I had told you, however, to use the months of the first lockdown to improve the health system and you did not do it".
