US Amb George Tsunis Presented His Credentials to Greek President

ATHENS – The newly appointed US Ambassador to Greece, George Tsunis, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou on Tuesday morning.

Immediately after the special ceremony held at the Presidential Mansion, Tsunis had a short conversation with President Sakellaropoulou to whom he said how moved he is that he is returning to his homeland. He also referred to the place of origin of his family as well as in his special ties with Greece.

On March, businessman and active member of the Greek-American Community, George J. Tsunis, was officially confirmed by the United States Senate as the next Ambassador of the United States to Greece.

Mr. Tsunis had been long-regarded as an easy decision by members of the U.S. Senate for this ambassadorial position due to his extensive ties to the upper echelons of the American business community but his, in-depth and deeply personal convictions held about Greek-American bilateral relations.
