ATHENS — In a post on Τwitter on Wednesday, President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou referred to the military coup of April 21, 1967, which led to a seven-year dictatorship in Greece.
"More than five decades after the black page of 21.4.67, we are proud of the conquests of our democracy. Greece is a modern state government by the rule of law, with guaranteed human rights and a smooth functioning of its institutions, even in the most difficult circumstances," Sakellaropoulou noted.
