Mistras Group Opens New State-of-Art Facility

HOUSTON – The MISTRAS Group continues its industry-leading expansion and upgrading. The Group’s METCO, a nondestructive evaluation (NDE) services provider operating in the Gulf Coast, recently announced the opening of their new and largest, state-of-the-art laboratory in Houston, TX.

MISTRAS is a leading “one source” global provider of technology-enabled asset protection solutions used to evaluate the structural integrity of critical energy, industrial and public infrastructure.

Sotirios J. Vahaviolos has served as Mistras’ Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer since he founded Mistras in 1978 under the name Physical Acoustics Corp.

The new facility on 10980 Metronome Drive is one of two MISTRAS-METCO locations in the Houston area, housing thirteen industrial radiography scanning bullpens, the most of any NDE facility in the United States.

MISTRAS uniquely combines its industry-leading products and technologies – 24/7 on-line monitoring of critical assets; mechanical integrity (MI) and non-destructive testing (NDT) services; destructive testing (DT) services; process and fixed asset engineering and consulting services; and its world class enterprise inspection data management and analysis software (PCMS(TM)) to provide comprehensive and competitive products, systems and services solutions from a single source provider.
