Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
To the Editor:
Spring is slowly beginning to appear here in the neighborhoods. A few days ago, the chirping of the early bird of spring with its orange breast was heard and the tulips and daffodils begin to grow timidly in the south-facing flower beds by the house. Seeing all this, other thoughts come to my mind, the days are growing longer and still continue to grow longer. Soon the digging in the garden will begin, we will make furrows all ready for the planting of vegetables and flowers and the trees will bloom and the smiles and all the good things of spring will come here after the constraints that we went through last year with the deadly disease and pseudo-politics.
We will also start planning the trip to Greece, God willing, after the necessary vaccinations and changes for travel safety.
We all need a good trip to our homeland Greece and our village is waiting for us, the family home that has been closed for about two years. Also the sea for a few swims, to taste the traditional tomato salad with a few grilled sardines there on the beach and preferably an ice cold beer or two glasses of wine with rest… for the body and soul.
I hope that my dream comes true and that we do not go through such torment again.
