KINAL Leader Gennimata Meets with AKEL General Secretary Stefanos Stefanou

September 17, 2021

ATHENS — Movement for Change (KINAL) party leader Fofi Gennimata met with visiting General Secretary of Cyprus' AKEL party, Stefanos Stefanou on Friday.

In statements after the meeting, Gennimata said she expressed KINAL's concerns about the course of the Cyprus issue, noting that Turkey is trying to create a fait accompli, contrary to UN decisions.

"Turkey's aims run against the decisions of the international community so far," she added, and that "discussions must start again from where they left off, within the framework of the strategy of the bi-zonal, bi-communal federation. This is demanded by Cyprus' best interests," she noted.
