Gus Cherevas Estia-Pindus AHEPA Chapter 326 Holds Initiations of New Members

FLUSHING, NY – The Gus Cherevas Estia-Pindus AHEPA Chapter 326 of Flushing, Queens, held its regularly scheduled business meeting at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church’s Sarantakos Hall in order to perform the ritual of initiations on November 10.

Among those in attendance that night were AHEPA Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Past Supreme President Nicholas Karacostas, Empire District 6 Governor Dean Moskos, and the President of the Sons of Pericles Mountaineers Chapter 293 Chris Kohlios. Dinner and refreshments were served prior to the start of the meeting.

The following eight new members were initiated: George Dakis, George Douveas, Emanuel Hatzygeorge, Panagiotis Kambitsis, Harry Manolatos, Jim Matheos, Nicholas Syris, and Michael Yarian.

The Gus Cherevas Estia-Pindus Chapter 326 has raised over $250,000 in the past seven years, and has generously donated to great causes such as the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine at the World Trade Center, the purchase of two Service Dogs for Veterans with PTSD, the making of the Greek documentary film “Lethal Nationalism, Genocide of the Greeks,” Ronald McDonald House, the St. Nicholas Church in Flushing, and its Youth Programs, Scholarships, and other worthwhile causes.
