Greek Army Chief Meets His French Counterpart General Burkhard

ATHENS — Emphasis on the recent signing of the agreement "Strategic Partnership for Cooperation in Defense and Security" between Greece and France was given during a phone conversation between the head of the Hellenic National Deence General Staff (GEETHA), General Konstantinos Floros, with his French counterpart, General Thierry Burkhard.

Issues of common interest were also discussed with emphasis on the recent signing of the agreement between Greece and France, as well as the acquisition of French weapons systems, as well as issues related to bilateral military cooperation between Greece and France.

In addition, the two leaders discussed current regional and international developments and their implications for security and stability in the wider Mediterranean, Middle East and North Africa region, as well as the crucial role that Greece and France play as security, stability and peace pillars.

The two leaders agreed to meet as soon as possible to further coordinate their actions.
