From the Ashes of Disaster, Mourning, Appreciation, Hope in Babylon, NY

One week after a fire severely damaged the altar area, Fr. Demetrios Kazakis comforts a parishioner after the memorial service that followed the Divine Liturgy performed in front of the Church of St. Nicholas in Babylon, Long Island.

Some of the firefighters who saved the sanctuary attended the service. Also present were parishioners of the nearby Church of St. Demetrios of Merrick, which is recovering from a devastating fire, who came to offer advice.
