Greece’s Karalis Wins Bronze in Pole Vault in World Athletics Indoor Championships

GLASGOW – Greek athlete Emmanouil Karalis won the bronze medal in the pole vault event at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland on Sunday. Karalis cleared 5.85 meters on his first attempt, bettering his own personal best for the year (5.72 meters) and guaranteeing himself a place on the podium.

Over 100 Pilot Whales Beached on Western Australian Coast Have Been Rescued, Officials Say

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — More than 100 long-finned pilot whales that beached on the western Australian coast Thursday have returned to sea, while 29 died on the shore, officials said.
