Cyprus, Israel Agree to Push Underwater Electric Cable Connection

NICOSIA – A meeting between the ministers of energy for Cyprus and Israel – George Papanastasiou and Eli Cohen – led to an agreement that the countries would make an underwater electric cable link a top priority, linking them to Europe.

They toured the Reading Power Station in Tel Aviv together with the Director General of the Ministry of Energy Yossi Dayan, the Chairman of the Electricity Authority, Amir Shavit, said the Jewish Press.

They also were said to agree to strengthen the regional alliance and continue and promote joint projects in the fields of energy as Israel tries to keep conducting international business during its invasion of the Gaza Strip.
