Charitsis: Greek Gov’t Is Making the Same Insufficient Onterventions in Economy

ATHENS – "Unfortunately, we hear many things from the government, but we see little that has been done," main opposition SYRIZA spokesperson Alexis Charitsis said on Wednesday in an interview with public broadcaster ERT, referring to measures to strengthen the Greek economy.

For the tourism industry, in particular, Charitsis noted that "there is strong concern from organisations, businesses and employees about the future" and because "there are no measures to support businesses and employees in the industry but also because there is no plan and no specific protocols for the start of European tourism in the near future."

"We would expect the government to push harder in that direction," he said.

He also stressed that "the Mitsotakis government is still proceeding without a plan in the economic sector, implementing the same insufficient measures, despite its increasingly unfavourable forecasts for the recession."
