The Greek Flag Raising at Bowling Green ahead of the Parade (Vids & Pics)

NEW YORK – The traditional raising of the Greek flag took place, Friday, June 3 at Bowling Green in Manhattan, ahead of the New York Greek Independence Parade, on 5th Avenue, this Sunday, June 5, at 1:30 PM.

This is an event of special significance, held each year in Manhattan, near Wall Street, where, in addition to the flag raising ceremony, officials offer their remarks in honor of the Greek community and the celebration of Greek Independence.
