Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
NICOSIA – Cyprus’ Minister of Defence Christoforos Fokaides addressed an event focusing on Earth Observation on September 5 on Cyprus. The Cyprus News Agency reported that “the government of Cyprus is making efforts to enhance its participation in the European Space Organisation, in the fields of security, search and rescue, environment monitoring, earth observation, satellite navigation and telecommunications.”
The Ministry of Defence is also studying how security and national defense can benefit from space technologies and geographic information systems.
Fokaides said his Ministry is ready to cooperate with academic institutions, research centers and the private sector.
