Police Announce Traffic Restrictions Around Athens Appeals Court on Wednesday

ATHENS — Emergency traffic restrictions will be imposed in the streets around the Athens Appeals Court on Wednesday, starting at 6:00 in the morning, due to rallies that have been announced when the court announces its verdict in the case against the far-right party Golden Dawn (Chryssi Avgi).

Vehicles will not be permitted to drive past, stop or park on the following streets:

Loukareos, between Kedrinou Street and Alexandras Avenue

Degleri, between Kedrinou Street and Alexandras Avenue

Kalvou, between Degleri and Loukareos

Trichonidos and Kouzi, along their entire length

D. Tseliou, between Kedrinou and Kalvou

Alexandras Avenue, along its entire length (in stages from 7:45)

Drivers are advised to use the following alternative routes:

For Alexandras Avenue lanes to Kifissias: via Patission Street

For Alexandras Avenue lanes to Patission: via Vasilissis Sofias

For Loukareos, Degleri, Kalvou, Trichonidos, Kouzi, D. Tseliou – via parallel roads.

For access to the 'Elpis' and Agios Savvas hospitals, staff and patients can get there via Panormou, right on Kedrinou, left on Dimitsanas (counter to normal direction, with a traffic policeman regulating traffic).

The above traffic measures will be implemented gradually and depending on traffic conditions. There will also be modifications to bus and trolley routes.
