KINAL Attacks Government for Closing Athens-Lamia Motorway

February 15, 2021

ATHENS — Opposition Movement for Change (KINAL) sternly attacked the government and the decision made by Citizen Protection Michalis Chrisochoidis to close the country's most important road, namely, the Athens-Lamia section of Athens-Thessaloniki motorway, with the excuse of preventing possible accidents. As KINAL's civil protection sector noted, this decision caused great disruption and inconvenience for thousands of drivers, who were not informed about the decision.

According to KINAL, the government was unprepared in the face of the weather phenomena and its inability to have a stable policy for coping with disasters was once again revealed. It finally called on the government to apologise to citizens that were unable to go about their business due to a decision that "came out of the blue".
