Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
ATHENS — Citizen Protection Minister Michailis Chrysochoidis on Tuesday referred to the drawing up of a special plan in tourist areas, especially on Mykonos, Santorini and the Attica region, with the creation of new police stations and more staff and technological equipment, during an address to the online event "Tourism and Safety" co-organised by the ministry and the Hellenic Police with the support of the British Embassy in Athens.
The minister spoke of a visible reduction of crime in Greece and pointed out the management of congregations and the implementation of the law on the police's part.
"Greece is a safe and friendly country. Greece has safety as a competitive advantage of tourism," he said.
Additionally, Chrysochoidis thanked British Ambassador Kate Smith for the UK's constant support to Greece in matters of safety.
