People are still dying in the thousands across the United States but Georgia – against most advice – has lifted its lockdown and among the restaurant chains ready to start serving again is the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group of Pano Karatassos.

“Everyone’s going to the grocery stores, and there are some grocery stores where nobody has any gloves on,” Karatassos, a founder and corporate chef for the group told The New York Times.

“We are going to have an experience in my mind that’s 10 times safer. What we’re doing is looking to move forward with the new way of dining,” he said.

The group began as  Pano's and Paul's in the Atlanta area in 1979 and now includes an upscale fish house, French brasserie and fancy diner with $15 burgers. If all goes according to plan, five of its seven restaurants plan to begin table service May 1.

It's uncertain how it will look with social distancing guidelines limiting table spacing and customers and staff operation, as well as health protocols of if anyone wants to take the risk of eating out, but he said he's ready.
