She knows how to tickle a funny bone and that’s what Greek-American comedian Carie Karavas did as a featured act at Governor’s Comedy Club in Levittown on Long Island where she set up the crowd for fellow comedian Tim Krompier.
Greek-Americans know self-effacing and family humor, of course, as Karavas lovingly and laughingly revealed when telling jokes about Christmas gifts, wrote Markos Papadatos for Digital Journal in a review of her performance that he called hilarious.
Karavas said her New Year’s resolution is to stop cleaning her bathroom, so when it gets all dirty, she would not mind, since she “stuck to her resolution,” joked about going to IKEA to get furniture, and even made fun of her husband and his love of eating. “Carie Karavas was hysterical…many people were laughing so hard that they were in tears.”
She’s been a regular at the club with fans liking the way she pokes fun at society and the everyday travails through which all go, delivering warm, witty humor. Her repertoire includes jokes about the challenges of getting married at 40 and dealing with her 100-year-old grandfather who lives at her house.
