220 Migrants Rescued South of Karpathos

KARPATHOS – A Maltese-flagged cargo ship, under the coordination of the Joint Operations and Research Centre of the Shipping Ministry, on Tuesday proceeded to rescue 220 migrants aboard a fishing boat about 75 nautical miles south of Karpathos.

Four rescue boats took part in the rescue operation, while the migrants are expected to be taken to Kos in the afternoon.
