Tampa Native Metropolitan Nikitas to become a Turkish citizen

Metropolitan Nikitas of Dardanellia, Director of the Patriarch Athenagoras Orthodox Institute in Berkley, Calif., has applied for his Turkish citizenship. The American born cleric from Tampa, Fla. says he's doing it to support the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

Philip Vorgias wrote on June 04, 2010 11:47 PM	The Turks will sit on his application and drag their feet on it, using it to derive as many political advantages as they can before approving it-if they approve it at all. They've used one excuse after another to keep delaying reopenning the Patriarchate for 36 years. That's their MO.
