Young Man Arrested for Trying to Start a Fire at Pedion Tou Areos Park

ATHENS – A young man was arrested on Friday for trying to set dry weeds on fire at the Pedion Areos park in Athens.

The man was caught by Region of Attica security personnel and police patrolling the area, and was led before a prosecutor.

Regional Director Giorgos Patoulis expressed his concern at the second attempt to set fire to the park in Athens, and called on the public to be on alert and report suspicious acts to the authorities.
