Turkish F-16s Infringe Greek FIR, Fly over Agathonissi

ATHENS – A pair of Turkish F-16 fighter jets entered the Athens Flight Information Region (FIR) without submitting flight plans on Monday and proceeded to fly over the Greek island of Agathonissi at 20,000 feet at 9:37 in the morning, the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) announced.

The Turkish aircraft were identified and intercepted by Greek fighter planes, in accordance with international rules and standard practice, the announcement said.
