Thriller in Greece: American Couple Disappears in Messinia

ATHENS – The disappearance of an elderly American couple who had been living in an area of Methoni for the last few years is turning into a thriller.

The couple, according to the Silver Alert that was issued on Lifelinehellas.gr, left their home on January 23, 2023, with a possible destination of Monemvasia in Laconia, and have been missing since then.
On Sunday, the couple’s daughter, who is in America, made a social media post in which she seems certain that her parents ended their lives alone.
“My parents are officially missing and presumed dead of their own accord,” she wrote.

The disturbing complete post reads as follows:

“As of today, my parents are officially missing and are presumed dead of their own volition (details not available as they were very private people). They were in Greece when it happened; I don’t know where they went to end their lives, so until their bodies are found I need the help of my community to stay functional.

While I am waiting, I want NO SYMPATHIES OR CONDOLENCES! I NEED to hear good things from your lives, and lots and lots of pet photos. All the pet photos. A mental and emotional breakdown is being scheduled for after we have found them and gotten the massive amount of paperwork in two countries out of the way, but until then I have to stay focused.

TLDR; life sucks, gimme pet photos to keep me going.”

The Silver Alert on the disappearance noted:

David Harrison Robinson, 83, and his 80-year-old wife, Lukretia Robinson, left their home in the area of Dapia Methoni, in the municipality of Pylos Nestoros, Messinia, in their car, make Opel Agila Diesel 1300, model 2009, blue electric blue, registration number KMT7738. Their probable destination was Monemvasia.

David has white hair, brown eyes, 1.85 m tall and is thin. He wears a hat with a large brim. Lukretia has grey hair (she wears a wig), brown eyes, 5’5″ tall and is thin.

‘Γραμμη Ζωης – Lifelinehellas.gr’ – was notified by their family on the afternoon of 08/02/2023 and activated a Silver Alert. Their lives are in danger.
