Shrine AHEPA Chapter 500 Raises Funds for Needy Families

GREENLAWN, NY – Shrine AHEPA Chapter 500 and Saint Paraskevi of Greenlawn hosted a fundraiser on behalf of the Good Neighbor Fund. Brother Nick Monogioudis, the chapter Vice President, organized the event.

The Good Neighbor Fund helps local families who are struggling economically. Support can come in the form of paying off medical bills, transportation expenses, rent, food, clothing and other daily needs. During this COVID-19 crisis, now more than ever families are in dire need of assistance.

This two-month long fundraiser started in early February and ended on March 27. The event took place at New York Fitness and Boxing, located at 1976 Jericho Turnpike, East Northport, NY. Those who donated $10, received one raffle ticket with a chance to win one of 13 prizes. All prizes were donated by the Chapter 500 brotherhood with the grand prize being $1,000. Edwin Rivera the chapter’s President hosted the drawing. The event may be viewed on YouTube:

The chapter was blessed to raise $10,000 in donations and expressed its thanks to all of the contributors who made this a successful fundraiser for the community.
