Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
ΑΤΗΕΝS — Shipowner Panagiotis (Panos) Lascaridis submitted his resignation from the Union of Greek Shipowners and its board of directors on Tuesday for controversial statements reported by the media.
In a statement, he criticised "the character assassination attempts some people have undertaken through the union, in tandem with various so-called reliable media," adding that he staunchly believed in the significance of Greek shipping, and respected the institutions of the country.
In a reply later in the day, the union's board unanimously accepted his resignation and rejected what it called "his unfounded and provocative claims."
