“Raus” House of Guilt – Live at the Hellenic Academy June 3-4 in Deerfield, IL

CHICAGO – The Friends Hellenic Theatrical Troupe will present its final performances of ‘Raus‘ House of Guilt on Friday, June 3 and Saturday, June 4, 7:30 PM, at the Hellenic Academy, 445 Pine Street in Deerfield, IL. This is an adult comedy written by the duo Michael Reppa and Thanasi Papathanassiou in 2010 during the period when financial misdeeds were common in Greece.

‘Raus‘ is be performed in Greek one final weekend at the Hellenic Academy stage by a team of actors that enjoy performing together and entertaining the public. The Friends team is directed by Leonardo Sfontouris with the assistance of Vana Christopoulou.

Tickets are $20, available via advance phone reservations 847-317-1063 or at the door of the Hellenic Academy. The show starts promptly at 7:30 PM. Not suitable for children under 15 years of age.

The comedy takes place in a neoclassical building in the center of Athens, the crossroads for conservative petty bourgeoisie, carefree girls of the night, and a love from the past to work together and triumph. Any obstacle to their cooperation will be addressed with unprecedented optimism, ingenuity, and a little European help in an Era of Change.

Many rehearsal hours went into this production and all the participants used personal time to make the comedy a reality for the Hellenes and Philhellenes of the Midwest. The comedy is a not-for-profit endeavor, and all the actors are volunteers. The community is asked to attend and show its support for theatrical productions.

The Friends Troupe is very appreciative of their families, the Hellenic Academy, the volunteers, and their sponsors: AMS Painting Contractors, The Greek Bookstore, Salon Oak & Spa, Kalliston Virgin Olive Oil and Maria Tassi, George and Katerina Karas, and Stavros and Julie Basseas. Without all their support the production would not have been possible.

Special thanks to the team behind the scenes: Director, Leonardo Sfontouris, Assistant Director, Vana Christopoulou, Sets-Costumes, Konstantina Panagiotaki, Sound-Lighting, Dimitris Mastorakis, Set Design, A.M.S Painting Michael Dolomas, and Music Editing, Vangelis Mitsopoulos.
