President Pavlopoulos Calls on Pupils to Resist Temptation of Smoking

ATHENS – President of Republic Prokopios Pavlopoulos called on the pupils to resist smoking temptation inaugurating the 10th Hellenic Pupils Congress “Education for a World without Smoking” held at the Education Ministry building on Tuesday.

Pavlopoulos noted that the pupils’ active participation in the prevention of smoking not only protects them from a silent enemy but also will certify the power of their personality. In parallel, he urged the state, the school and the family to render practical support to this struggle.


THESSALONIKI – A 27-year-old man accused of spiking a woman's drink at a New Year's celebration and raping a 27-year-old woman was acquitted by a council of judges who said she lied about the alleged assault.
