Peter S. Zavitsanos Elected President of Eponymous AHEPA Chapter #56

EASTON, PA – The Order of AHEPA Peter S. Zavitsanos Chapter #56 in Easton, PA, announced the election of Peter S. Zavitsanos as president of the chapter for 2022-2024. Zavitsanos, who has been the chapter secretary since 1954 and still is, was elected Ahepan of the Year in 2017, among his numerous honors.

At a dinner at the Marblehead restaurant in Easton on April 3, he was honored for his many years of service with the Order of AHEPA. Past chapter president Joseph Black spoke at the event and many Ahepans from nearby chapters attended.

George Zissis, past chapter president served as the Master of Ceremonies.

Zavitsanos was born in Newport News, VA, to parents from Ithaca, Greece. He is the father of two daughters, Katherine and Athena. His wife Xanthe, originally from Chrisou-Evrytanias, passed away in 2016.

Zavitsanos is also a World War II veteran and served in the China-Burma-India Theater of War 1943-1946. He is 96 years old and very active in the Greek-American community.
