Moscow Supports Cyprus Talks

Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian foreign ministry, declared “Russia is ready to cooperate with its international partners to ensure progress at talks on the Cyprus problem…stressing that a mutually acceptable and lasting solution can only be agreed by Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots,” CNA reported.

“We commend this step and hope the sides will spare no effort to reach a fair, comprehensive and lasting settlement of the Cyprus dispute on the basis of corresponding resolutions of the United Nations Security Council,” she said.
