Mitsotakis Dines with the Stars, Celebrities, Tom Hanks Too

ANTIPAROS, Greece — With Greece awash with actors, the super-rich and yacht owners eager to get away from what's left of the COVID-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis were the guests some of them on the island of Antiparos.

That included actor Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson who have a summer home there, media reports said, with Hanks now an honorary Greek citizen and a key ambassador for Hellenism.

Mitsotakis was accompanied by his wife Mareva Grabowski-Mitsotakis at the affair reportedly hosted by fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg and media magnate Barry Diller, founder of the now pro-Trump Fox Broadcasting network.

The dinner was also attended by Amazon’s billionaire founder Jeff Bezos and  CNN news anchor Anderson Cooper, said Kathimerini, with the conversation said to include how Greece's summer is going, the country's image in the world,  global technological developments and plans about foreign film productions in the country as Greece is trying to lure movie makers and shedding its notorious image about being unfriendly to them.

Greece is now host to a number of film productions and in August Netflix will showcase Beckett, starring John David Washington, which was shot entirely in the country and features many iconic images.
