To the Editor:
The insightful issue of pre-political correctness of comedy raised by Dr. Scaros (“Boy the Way All in the Family Played: Pre-PC Comedy,” TNH Oct. 9) has real proliferating consequences beyond comedy in our constantly evolving society. As Scaros aptly states: “The good news is that history goes in cycles. At some point, enough people will be so fed up with political overcorrectness that Hollywood will regain its sense of humor.” This concept manifested itself in our polity with the Trump election to the presidency. Ironically, however, the extreme political incorrectness of Trump reverted the pendulum right back to establishment PC politics with Biden. What’s the moral Scaros?
