Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce Begins Series of Wine Classes on August 26

NEW YORK – The Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce (HACC) begins its series of wine classes on Wednesday, August 26, 4 PM, with Summer Lovers White and Red an online wine tasting event via Zoom. The classes will explore Greek wines and the country’s diverse regions and grape varieties in addition to introducing you to some of the country's most exciting producers.

As the HACC noted in its email announcement, “Since we, can’t make it to Greece this year, let's dip our toes into the Aegean and Ionian Seas one sip at a time.”

The in-depth education on Greece and its wines begins with a tour of the Greek islands on August 26, visiting Cephalonia, Crete, and Santorini.

Each island's unique grape varieties will be explored and discussed along with their characteristics, vineyard terroir, and winemaking techniques, as well as a bit about the history of each location.

Wines from Gentilini, Karavitakis, and Acroterra Winery will be tasted.

Grape varieties covered in this class will include: Robola, Mavrodaphne, Vidiano, Kotsifali, and Assyrtiko.

Gentilini Robola 2019, Gentilini Eclipse 2017, Acroterra Santorini 2017, Karavitakis Klima White Vidiano 2019, and Karavitakis Klima Red 2017
