Greece Reports Another 150 COVID-19 Infections, 2 Deaths

ATHENS — Greece on Monday confirmed 150 new SARS-CoV-2 infections in the last 24 hours, with 17 of these identified at entry points to the country.

This brings total infections since the first outbreak of the pandemic in Greece to 7,222. Of these, 1,692 were infected during travel abroad and 3,394 are related to already registered cases.

In addition, 23 Greeks are intubated. Their median age is 66 years old, slightly over half (52.2 pct) have an underlying condition or are aged 70 or above, and 7 of them are women.

A total of 136 patients have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic.

Authorities also reported 2 more deaths, bringing fatalities to 230 in Greece. The median age of the diseased was 77 years old and 95.7 pct had an underlying condition and/or had been aged at least 70. Of the 230, 81 were women.

In terms of geographical distribution of the 150 and besides the 17 mentioned above, most were concentrated in Attica Region (48, with 14 linked to recent travel domestically), Thessaloniki Region (30, and ditto for 7 of these). Most other areas had between 1 and 3 registered cases, except for Imathia prefecture, which had 5.
