Circulation of Greek Newspapers and Magazines Down 13.7% in 2019

ATHENS – Newspaper and magazine circulation fell by 13.7 pct in 2019 compared with the previous year, totaling 46,776,501 pages, down 7,431,607 pages compared with 2018, after a 5.9 pct decline recorded in the 2018/2017 period, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Monday.

Political newspapers' circulation fell 11.2 pct to 34,448,439 pages, sport newspapers' circulation dropped 18.2 pct to 10,584,748 pages and financial newspapers' circulation plunged 33.6 pct to 764,197 pages.

Circulation of magazines fell 3.2 pct to 19,938,136 issues, after a 9.4 pct decline recorded in the 2018/2017 period.


ATHENS — Greece's coast guard on Monday prevented at least 590 migrants from illegally entering the country's waters in the eastern Aegean Sea from neighboring Turkey in assorted vessels, authorities said.
