Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
ATHENS – Citizen Protection Minister, Takis Theodorikakos, revealed on Saturday in an interview with Skai TV that the government has decided to build a fence along the entire length of the Evros river.
“The Government Council on National Security (KYSEA) has decided and it is the responsibility of the Ministry of Citizen Protection to implement it, to build a fence along the entire length of the Evros river, i.e. on the border of Greece with Turkey, the border of Europe with Turkey,” the minister noted, adding: “The immediate decision is the construction of the first 35 kilometers at the central point with a budget of 100,000,000 euros of the Ministry of Citizen Protection in cooperation with the Ministry of National Defence […] The study has been completed, we are absolutely ready and we are waiting for the formal approval by the Finance Ministry, in order to proceed with a quick and immediate tender.”
Answering a question about the continuous Turkish provocations, Theodorikakos underlined that “Greece cannot be threatened by anyone, it rejects the provocations with calmness and absolute determination.”
