Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
ATHENS – The five-member Court of Appeals on Monday unanimously rejected requests submitted by Ilias Kasidiaris and Yiannis Lagos – both elected with far-right Golden Dawn (Chryssi Avghi) as an MP and MEP, respectively – asking for their early release from prison and a suspension of the execution of their sentence. The court adopted the recommendation made earlier on Monday by the court prosecutor, who judged that the two men, who have been convicted as leading members of Golden Dawn, which has been ruled a criminal organisation, should remain in prison.
