Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
ATHENS – Government spokesperson Yiannis Oikonomou on Monday said the main opposition’s motion of censure, which was rejected by parliament late on Sunday night, was a “move without real substance, a censure without form”. Speaking at Monday’s press briefing, Economou dismissed the motion as a “firework” set off by SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras “to defend himself against competition within and outside his party.”
At the same time, Oikonomou said the decision by JPMorgan & Chase to choose Greece as an investment destination was a vote of confidence in the Greek economy.
On the pandemic, he said that the number of new infections appeared to be stabilising, however, the pressure on the national health system remained. He repeated that those who have not yet made the decision to get vaccinated were placing themselves at incalculable risk, while reaffirming that the government is steadily focused on promoting both first and booster vaccinations.
